Meet our new team member

Christy Wathen is HR Director/Community Health. Christy brings 19 years of HR experience, spanning the hospitality and health care sectors, including significant experience in long-term care.

Christy’s journey in HR began in hospitality, transitioning into health care, where she spent the majority of her career. Her notable roles include serving as an HR Director at a Signature Healthcare facility in Lexington for five years and a subsequent regional role as Senior HR Advisor at Signature Healthcare’s corporate office. There, she played a pivotal role in supporting the HR needs of 75 long-term care facilities across multiple states. Most recently, Christy was the HR Manager for Harrison Memorial Hospital in Cynthiana.

She recently obtained the SHRM-SCP in February this year. Christy holds a bachelor’s degree in HR Leadership and an MBA with a concentration in HR Management from Sullivan University.

In her new role, Christy will lead our HR Mergers and Acquisitions function and HR service delivery assessment and implementation. She will work closely with both internal and external leaders to ensure the design and delivery of patient-centered care through strategic HR initiatives. Her responsibilities will include developing HR operating procedures and project plans, managing HR due diligence, making recommendations for job and compensation mapping, and driving continuous HR process improvement, all aligned with UK HealthCare’s overarching HR strategy and business objectives.
